TLIF0009 – Ensure the safety of transport activities (Chain of Responsibility)

Course Description

This unit involves the skills and knowledge required to ensure the safety of transport activities. It includes identifying features and applying chain of responsibility obligation in the Heavy Vehicle National Law (HVNL) or applicable state/territory law and regulations. It also includes identifying and reporting chain of responsibility risks in transport activities as defined by the HVNL or applicable state/territory law and regulations. Work is performed under close direction, generally within a team environment. No licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to this unit at the time of publication. Course Duration

All teaching, learning and assessment activities are required to be undertaken by the targeted student to demonstrate the learning outcomes of this unit of competency.

The face to face learning for this unit of competency will be conducted at the student’s workplace.

There are no formal entry requirements to this unit. However, students must be able to understand and speak enough English to understand instructions and assessments and communicate with trainer / assessor.

 

This is determined at interview with the student and the trainer.

  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Have sound reading and written and oral communication and mathematical skills

An LLN assessment is required to ensure adequate resources are provided to the learner to complete the course

  • Are employed or subcontracted within a transport company or a service that requires the use of Heavy Vehicles
  • The learner must provide photographic evidence of their identity plus a copy of their applicable licence prior to commencement of the course.
